Frank King was an American newspaper comic artist, most famous for his signature series 'Gasoline Alley' (1918-   ), which is the second-longest running comic strip in the world, only behind Rudolph Dirks' 'Der Katzenjammer Kids' (1897-2006). Contrary to the latter series it is still in syndication today (2024), bound to possibly break its record by 2027. 'Gasoline Alley' is the epitome of a comic strip family saga.
