Maurizio Dotti began his professional career in 1976 after joining the art studios of Giancarlo Tenenti. He then spent several years working in the theater, as a puppeteer at the Teatro dei Collau. He returned to comics when he started working for Il Giornalino in the early 1990s. For this magazine, he made the installment 'I Magnifici Sette' in the series '100 Anni di Cinema', and a couple of 'Lassie' stories.
