José Luis Salinas worked in the advertising field starting in 1929 for some of Argentina's biggest agencies. His earliest work appeared in El Tony and Paginas de Columba. Seven years later, he created his first sucessful comic series, 'Hernán el Corsario', which appeared in the pages of Patoruzu. This was soon followed by numerous series, like 'Capitàn Tormenta', 'La Costa de Marfil', 'Miguel Strogoff', 'Los Tres Mosqueteros', and others. For El Hogar, Salinas drew comic adaptations of popular literature. Salinas was strongly influenced by Alex Raymond. …Comiclopedia
