Eric Liberge has collaborated on several fanzines since 1990. He soon joined the teams of the fanzines Le Goinfre and PLG, where he began doing graphic experiments. In 1996, he created his 'Monsieur Mardi-Gras Descendres' project, that first appeared in the fanzines PLG, Ogoun and Golem. The first album of this series was published by Zone Créative, but it was reprinted by Pointe Noire after winning the Prix René Goscinny in 1999.
