Birago Balzano, born in Trinitapoli, took courses at the Academy of Brera, and studied at the Art Institute of Cimabue afterwards. He made his comic debut by publishing in Capitan Audax at the publishing house Corno. From 1972, he drew the erotic vampire strip 'Zora' from scripts by Giuseppe Pederiali.
