Sal Amendola was the artist on several Marvel, DC and Archie titles in the 1970s. He started his comics career in 1969, doing stories for Dick Giordano's 'Witching Hour'. At DC, he went on to do coloring, lettering, as well as page headings. He also did artwork on such series as 'Batman', 'Green Arrow', and some 'John Carter of Mars' stories. He cooperated with Curt Swan on the comic adaptation of the third 'Superman' movie. He became Giordano's assistant editor in 1970.
