Heritage offered close to 500 lots and sold almost everything reported, totaling $243,420 with a median price of $300. The top result was Larry Lieber’s Mighty Marvel Comics Calendar 1978 Spider-Man illustration at $11,250. John Buscema’s Conan the Barbarian consecutive daily strips followed at $9,687.50, while Frank Frazetta’s Planet Comics #48 Space Rangers story page reached $5,250 and Bill Ward’s Humorama single-panel gag cartoon sold for $5,000. Among the highlighted Garfield material, Jim Davis’s Garfield daily strip dated April 17, 1979 sold for $1,375 and his Garfield Sunday strip dated May 15, 2005 sold for $937.50.
Coutau Bégarie sold all of its more than 250 lots, for a total of €114,520 and a median price of €270. Milo Manara’s Indian Summer original page led the sale at €5,000, within its €4,000–6,000 estimate. Derib’s Yakari Tome 26 original page sold for €4,800, also within estimate, while Patrice Pellerin’s L’Épervier illustration sold below estimate at €3,500. André Juillard’s Blake and Mortimer Tome 23 page reached €4,800, above its €1,500–2,000 estimate.
Mandarake (Big Web) sold all 45 lots for ¥944,500. Yoshikazu Yasuhiko’s Arion hand-drawn shikishi led at ¥165,000, about $1,020 or €900. Yoshimitsu Shintaku’s Zone Fighter color manuscript sold for ¥66,000, about $410 or €360, and Hiroshi Kaizuka’s Operation 1 & 2 manuscript sold for ¥39,000, about $240 or €210.
Catawiki closed more than 400 marketplace auction lots, with 329 sold for a total of €57,623 and a median price of €75. Gil Formosa’s Buck Danny T57 original cover sold for €3,200, Alberto Breccia’s Sherlock Time opening page sold for €3,000, and Patrice Pellerin’s L’Épervier colour drawing sold for €1,990. Don Lawrence’s Trigia original page sold for €600, while Philippe Druillet’s Lone Sloane – Chaos original page, Don Lawrence’s Storm original page, and Floyd Gottfredson’s Mickey Mouse daily strip did not meet reserve.
Raremarq reported 106 sold lots out of more than 200, totaling $84,716 with a median price of $415. The top sale was Artgerm’s X-23 original sketch cover at $6,800. Other results included Celina’s full-colour commission slot at $3,151, Maya Miyazaki’s commission slot at $3,051, and Greg Horn’s commission slot at $3,007.
eBay results were reported as a high-sales extract. Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti’s Daredevil Vol. 2 #7 page sold for $5,000. John Severin’s Combat Kelly #2 page sold for $3,300, a Marvel Saga #18 Thor back cover sold for $3,000, and George Pérez’s Hal Jordan Green Lantern commission reached $2,700. Among the highlighted lots, John Byrne and Klaus Janson’s Wolverine issue #21 page sold for $1,225, Floyd Gottfredson’s Mickey Mouse daily strip sold for €950, Mick Austin’s 2000 AD Finn painted cover sold for £680, about $910 or €790, and Charlie Adlard’s The Walking Dead #20 page sold for $660.
Van Eaton Galleries sold 7 of 9 lots, led by Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who original drawing at $4,500, within its $4,000–6,000 estimate. Tessier Sarrou was led by Greg’s Achille Talon original page at €460. Smaller reported results also included a miscellaneous group led by a Smitty and Gasoline Alley newspaper comic strip art group at $617.50, and mycomicshop.com, where Ernie Chan’s Swamp Thing commission sold for $511.
eBay new auction listings included three highlighted active lots: He-Man and Battle Cat original art at C$810, about $570 or €500; Jim Cheung and John Dell’s Civil War / Thanos vs. Avengers FCBD 2016 art at $510; and Gary Frank’s Geiger #23 page at $258. Other active eBay items included Steve Rude’s Spider-Man and Doctor Strange original art at $785 and Kerry Gammill’s Wolverine drawing at $300.
Catawiki added a broad group of active auctions. The strongest current bids included Alberto Breccia’s El Viajero original page at €444, Jean-Yves Mitton’s Silver Surfer / Nova 25 original drawing at €360, Marco Nizzoli and Luca Vanzella’s Dylan Dog: Il Mondo di un Sogno Migliore cover at €340, and Jim Davis’s Garfield daily strip at €320.
Raremarq had active auctions led by David Dias’s Spider-Gwen sketch cover at $1,540, Alexis Ziritt’s Exquisite Corpses #1 variant cover original art at $1,500, Monte Moore’s The Reaper Cometh graphic novel cover at $1,200, and Mujumonster’s Black Cat original art at $1,050. On the fixed-price side, Raremarq (Buy It Now) listed Peach Momoko’s Magik #1 original cover art at $29,999, Sai / Psylocke original art at $6,999, and a Hellboy pencil sketch by Mike Mignola at $950.
Romitaman listed several high-value fixed-price pages and covers, led by Jack Kirby and D. Bruce Berry’s Our Fighting Forces #153 cover at $27,000, Jack Kirby and John Verpoorten’s Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles page at $12,000, and Howard Chaykin and Tony DeZuñiga’s Pizzazz #3 Star Wars splash at $11,000.
ComiConArt added three Jorge Jiménez Batman covers: Batman issue #6 cover at $25,000, Batman issue #3 cover at $20,000, and Batman issue #4 cover at $18,000. BritComicsArt listed J. Scott Campbell’s Lineology #1 cover at $15,000, plus Tim Sale’s Batman: The Long Halloween Special page and Brian Bolland’s Freak Show: Harry the Head page.
La Galerie de la Bande Dessinée listed animation production material and manga-related pieces, including Pokémon genga with Pikachu and Ash at €5,000, Pokémon genga with Pikachu at €4,500, and Bleach layout with Ichigo Kurosaki and Uryu Ishida at €1,800. The Artist Bullpen focused on André Lima Araújo, led by the Voice Rivals #7–12 connecting cover at $10,000 and the G.I. Joe #1 Skybound Insiders connecting variant at $4,500.
Venere Comic Art listed Milo Manara’s Kamasutra Artist Collection cover at €11,000, an Angelo Stano Dylan Dog #100 page at €3,800, and a Dylan Dog #232 cover at €2,200. Nostalgic Investments added Jack Kirby’s New Gods #10 page at $9,500, Gene Colan’s Daredevil #90 page at $6,800, and Joe Kubert’s Weird Worlds #4 cover at $5,900.
2DGalleries listed Morris’s Lucky Luke and Jolly Jumper illustration at €12,000, Jean-Pierre Gibrat’s Mattéo page at €12,000, and Christophe Blain’s Isaac le Pirate page at €9,900. ComicArtFans Classifieds included Keith Giffen’s Omega Men #3 Lobo birth page at $129,000, George Pérez and Romeo Tanghal’s New Teen Titans #2 Deathstroke first appearance page at $79,000, and Moebius’s painting for a game at €26,000.
Huberty Breyne Gallery listed Jean-Pierre Gibrat’s Le Sursis Tome 2 page at €6,000. Galerie 9ème Art added Jeremy Bastian’s Hello Darkness cover at €5,500 and Achdé’s Lucky Luke contre Pinkerton page at €4,800. Pop Sequentialism listed Mike Mignola and P. Craig Russell’s Ironwolf page at $4,500 and Mike Mignola’s Wyrm’s Footnotes #14 RPG art at $3,500.

Heritage has over 700 pieces scheduled or active. Don Heck’s Tales of Suspense #39 Iron Man first appearance splash stands at $1,078,125. Other highlighted lots include Al Williamson, Carlos Garzon, Tom Palmer, and Ron Frenz’s Return of the Jedi story page at $75,000, Carl Barks’s Donald Duck vacation painting at $68,750, and Larry Lieber and Frank Giacoia’s The Destructor #4 cover at $2,000. The same sale also includes John Buscema and Klaus Janson’s Wolverine #2 cover, Charles Schulz’s Peanuts daily strip dated April 7, 1964, and Frank Miller’s Ronin #5 pages.
Mandarake (Big Web) has just over 100 lots active, led by Yoshiharu Tsuge’s Yoshiharu Tsuge Early Short Story Collection handwritten work at ¥1,650,000, about $10,250 or €8,960. Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto color shikishi is at ¥1,250,000, about $7,760 or €6,790, and Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Son Goku shikishi is at ¥830,000, about $5,150 or €4,510. Other highlighted lots include Osamu Tezuka’s Jungle Emperor Leo manuscript, Fujiko Fujio’s Perman color shikishi, and Kazuo Umezu’s Me and My Other Self manuscript group.
Little Nemo has a Disney-focused group of 49 lots. Carl Barks’s So Far and No Safari drawing is at €3,500 against a €3,500–7,000 estimate, while Biolletto and Martina’s Grilli Atomici original art is at €1,300, at the low end of its €1,300–3,000 estimate. Other active lots include Disney and Horvarth’s The Country Cousin art, Bruna’s Topolino – L’Isola della Morte page, and Scarpa’s La Nave del Microcosmo page.
eBay has a short active extract. Several miscellaneous auction sources also have a large group of active British comic and illustration lots, including Fleetway, Look-in, Battle Picture Library, Karl the Viking, and related art. Notable entries include Fleetway’s Battle Picture Library Murder Mission cover art, Karl the Viking art by Don Lawrence, and James Bond artwork by John McLusky.
Paul Pope, Spider-Man, Moebius, Atari Force, and Mike Mignola occupy the top five positions in this week’s rankings. Batman, John Byrne, Frank Frazetta, Milo Manara, and Frank Miller also remain inside the current top 12.
The largest one-week ranking gains were recorded by Edde Wagner, up 4,091 places to rank 151; Everette Hartsoe, up 3,986 places to rank 173; Colleen Coover, up 3,905 places to rank 163; Smash Comics, up 3,511 places to rank 22; and Silver Sable, up 3,467 places to rank 119.
