Hello, and welcome to this new edition of Comic Art Weekly. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just browsing, there’s plenty to discover in this week’s original comic art highlights.

Heritage offered over 900 original comic art lots, with 99.9% sold and a total of $3,157,119. The standout sale was Albert Uderzo’s Astérix Les Lauriers de César cover at $450,000. Other notable results included Astérix Chez Les Helvètes story page at $212,500, Moebius’ Major Fatal splash page at $137,500, and Robert Crumb’s Complete Crumb Comics Vol. 10 cover at $75,000. Pages by Jack Kirby, Don Rosa, and Jean Giraud (Moebius) also achieved significant prices.

Millon presented close to 300 lots, with 65.6% sold and a total of €363,520. The top result was 'Spider Eye' by Mr Garcin at €41,000, followed by Valérian by Mézières at €22,000 and Gédéon, Alfred et Roudoudou by Benjamin Rabier at €21,000. Several other pieces by Loisel, Gibrat, and Manara sold within or above their estimates.

Urania Casa d'Aste featured a large selection of European and American originals. The highest sale was Earl Duvall’s Mickey Mouse Boxing Champion daily strip at €28,000, with Hugo Pratt’s Sgt. Kirk cover at €14,000 and Biffignandi’s Zora la Vampira cover at €6,000. Several lots by Hugo Pratt, Guido Crepax, and Magnus also found buyers.

Landry Pop Auctions and mycomicshop.com held smaller sessions, with Sonic the Hedgehog #7 page and Ethan Van Sciver’s Green Lantern Corps page among the featured sales.

eBay saw a Milo Manara original sketch sell for $1,768, a Shadow page by Michael Kaluta/Brent Anderson at $1,418, and a Todd McFarlane Invasion #1 page at $1,400. Other notable results included a Sam Kieth Wolverine sketch at $999 and a Joe Sinnott/Herb Trimpe jam piece at $815.

Catawiki featured a Milo Manara original page at €1,200, a Derib Buddy Longway page at €1,000, and a Donald Soffritti Disney cover at €500. Several other European originals and covers were sold, with some reserves not met.

Mandarake highlighted a Shigeru Mizuki Kamishibai page at ¥2,400,000 (about $15,000), the highest result among marketplace auctions this week.

Other auction houses, including Ewbank’s and various smaller sources, reported a handful of sales, mostly in the low to mid-hundreds.

On Catawiki, featured new listings included a Moebius Starwatcher enamel plaque, a Milo Manara original cover, a Romano Molenaar Lady Death/Witchblade cover, a Alberto Breccia El Viajero page, and a Bess/Jodorowski Hannibal page. Other notable additions were a Hugo Pratt Corto Maltese page, a Batem Marsupilami cover, and a Jef Nys Jommeke page.

On Raremarq, new buy-now and auction listings included a Tyler Kirkham Deadpool Battle Damage cover, a Gabriele Dell'Otto Lake Como commission slot, a Black Cat by Homare, a Mary Jane by Rian Gonzales, a Black Cat by Chris Metzner, a Marvel Rivals #1 cover by Rian Gonzales, a Arthur Adams Magik sketch, a It's Jeff: Jeff the Land Shark #2 cover by Rian Gonzales, and a Boa's Luffy Collection by Chris Metzner. Other highlights included an Emma Frost X-Men sketch cover and a Batgirl by Rian Gonzales.

Kwan Chang listed several high-end covers and pinups, including a Batman: Sword of Azrael Deluxe Edition cover by Kevin Nowlan/Joe Quesada, a Supergirl Next Door #1 cover by Alexander Lozano, and a Rogue the Savage Land #2 cover by Stephen Platt. Other new arrivals included Spider-Man Superman #1 cover by Jerome Opena and Brzrkr #12 cover by Jerome Opena.

Romitaman added a Fantastic Four #73 page by Jack Kirby/Joe Sinnott, a Herculoids #2 painted cover by Felipe Massafera, and a Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica #163 cover by Dan Decarlo/Rudy Lapick. Other listings included a Daredevil #153 page by Gene Colan/Tony Dezuniga and a Buster Brown Sunday comic strip by Richard F. Outcault.

Anthony's Comic Book Art featured a X-Men #25 title splash by Dick Ayers/Werner Roth, a Batman #29 double-page spread by Danny Miki/Greg Capullo, and an Avengers #81 page by John Buscema/Tom Palmer. Other new listings included a Batman #42 page by Danny Miki/Greg Capullo and a Gunslinger Spawn #23 cover by Federico Mele.

Philippe Labaune Gallery listed several New Yorker covers by Carter Goodrich, including Like Mother, Like Daughter and Good Turnout, as well as Miracle Under 34th Street and Everybody Who's Anybody.

Laberinto Gris added Pesado Destino by Luis Royo and Metal-Morphosis by Luis Royo among other original paintings.

Other dealers, including ArchAngels, Tri-State Original Art, Galerie Napoléon, Galerie Champaka, ComicArt.dk, and Next Comic Art, listed a range of new pages, covers, and illustrations, with a focus on European, American, and manga originals.

Weiss Auctions will offer two Peanuts daily strips by Charles Schulz, including a 1959 'Character Traits' daily and a 1955 'AAUGHH!' daily, each with an estimate of $20,000–30,000 and current bids at $15,000.

Landry Pop Auctions features a Sonic the Hedgehog #40 page by Dave Manak/Rich Koslowski, a JLA Classified #47 page by Randy Green/Andy Owens, and a Judge Dredd #12 page by J.H. Williams III/Doug Selogy. Other highlights include a Captain America #44 page by Dan Jurgens/Bob Layton and a Hellboy illustration by Mike Mignola.

Heritage has several active auctions, including a Steve Ditko/John Byrne Avengers Annual #13 page, a Chic Stone Tales of Suspense #65 cover re-creation, and a Barry Windsor-Smith Conan Saga #5 cover prelim. Other lots feature pages by Alan Davis, Sal Buscema, Bruce Timm, and P. Craig Russell.

eBay currently lists a John Romita Sr./Joe Sinnott Captain America #142 page (current bid $3,100), a Cerebus #200 page by Dave Sim/Gerhard (C$2,025), and a Fantastic Four #332 page by Rich Buckler/Romeo Tanghal ($380). Other active lots include a Thor #305 page by Keith Pollard/Chic Stone and a Sam Slade Robo-Hunter page by Ian Gibson.

Catawiki features a Franquin Gaston original color drawing (current bid €11,000), a Milo Manara original cover (€6,000), and a Romano Molenaar Lady Death/Witchblade cover (€1,077). Other highlights include a Breccia El Viajero page and a Bess/Jodorowski Hannibal page.
