Heritage offered close to 400 lots, achieving a 99.5% sell-through and a total of $547,276. The headline result was Michael Golden’s Marvel Fanfare #2 Man-Spider cover at $57,500, followed by John Cassaday’s Planetary #1 cover at $52,500. Other notable sales included Darwyn Cooke’s DC: The New Frontier #2 Batman page at $20,000, and a John Byrne Action Comics #588 page at $3,750. The auction featured a wide range of original art from classic Marvel and DC covers to story pages and specialty illustrations, with strong results for trending artists such as John Byrne, Bruce Timm, and Jack Kirby.
AZ auction presented 68 lots, all sold, with a total of €6,050. The top lot was a Natacha #7 original illustration at €1,000. Other highlights included a Funcken battlefield illustration at €240 and several Franco-Belgian historical and humor pieces.
misc / divers included a Charles Schulz Snoopy drawing at $8,580 and a George Herriman Krazy Kat strip at $4,290. Additional results featured Al Capp’s Li’l Abner board at $924 and Rube Goldberg’s cartoon at $528.
mycomicshop.com sold all 9 lots, with the highest being a Blonde Avenger #7 preliminary art at $180 and a Batgirl sketch by Norm Breyfogle at $176.
On eBay, the top sales included a Teen Titans #71 Deathstroke splash at $2,044, two Sam Glanzman Our Army At War pages at $1,130 and $1,093, and a Jim Aparo Adventure Comics #443 page at $798. Other featured results included a Chris Bachalo Shade the Changing Man page at $615.
On Catawiki, the highest results were a Jacovitti Panoramica page at €1,000, a Balzano Birago Zora cover at €700, and a Dany Olivier Rameau color drawing at €560. Several featured lots did not meet reserve.
Other auction houses and marketplaces reported smaller volumes and lower prices, with a few notable sales in the €100–€300 range.
Artcurial has listed several major lots for its upcoming auction, including a Hugo Pratt Fable de Venise original (current bid €60,000), two Hergé Tintin illustrations (each at €60,000), and an Enki Bilal illustration at €23,000. Other highlights include a Jacques Tardi L’Escalier piece at €15,000 and a Moebius Le Bandard Fou page at €6,000. These listings feature trending artists and series, with several Tintin, Moebius, and Bilal works among the most sought-after.
Brunk Auctions has added a Charles M. Schulz Peanuts strip (current bid $15,000, estimate $30,000–50,000), along with other Schulz Li’l Folks strips and a Jeff MacNelly Shoe strip.
Landry Pop Auctions features a Greg Land Venom War: Spider-Man #2 double page (current bid $600), a June Brigman Alpha Flight #45 page at $350, and a Dave Manak Mad Magazine Spy vs. Spy art at $300.
Heritage has listed a Mark Bagley Amazing Spider-Man #396 page and an Irv Novick Batman #253 page (each at $450), both featuring trending characters. Other new listings include a P. Craig Russell Elric page at $1,563 and a Alex Raymond Rip Kirby strip at $1,438.
AZ auction has several high-estimate Franco-Belgian originals, including a Franquin Spirou page (estimate €30,000–40,000), a Franquin Modeste et Pompon gag (estimate €20,000–25,000), and a Giraud Blueberry page (estimate €12,000–15,000).
Galerie 9ème Art listed a Blacksad Amarillo cover by Juanjo Guarnido at €35,000, and a Blacksad Tome 7 page at €25,000. Several other Blacksad covers and pages are available, with prices ranging from €12,000 to €80,000.
Kwan Chang added a Dan Mora Batman #1 cover at $50,000 and an Alexander Lozano DC vs Marvel #1 cover at $30,000, along with other high-end superhero covers.
Romitaman sold a Marvel Two-in-One #20 cover by Jack Kirby, John Romita Sr., and Frank Giacoia for $47,500, and a Thor #214 cover by Frank Giacoia, Mike Esposito, and Rich Buckler for $35,000. Other recent sales include a Marvel Super-Heroes #14 Spider-Man page at $26,000 and a Avengers #39 splash at $22,000.
Panel Page Art listed a Stephen Platt Supreme Madness cover at $35,000 and a John Buscema Fantastic Four #121 page at $10,000.
eBay currently features a Chris Samnee Batman: The Long Halloween Last Halloween double page (current bid $2,750), several additional Samnee Batman pages, and an Olivier Coipel House of M #7 page at $1,025. Other active listings include a Steve Dillon Preacher page at $710.
Catawiki has a Lambil Les Tuniques Bleues page (current bid €2,000), a Romano Scarpa Topolino cover at €1,500, and a Hermann Les Tours de Bois-Maury page at €850. Other featured lots include a Robin Dubois page at €850 and a Web of Spider-Man #77 splash at €801.
Other dealers and galleries have added a variety of new listings, with a focus on contemporary superhero covers, Franco-Belgian classics, and independent comic art. Several smaller dealers listed a handful of items, mostly under $1,000.
