Worth Brehm Cosmopolitan Magazine Vol. LXIV "Penrod Jashber: His Career as a Detective" Original Art (International Magazine Co., 1918). Brehm's large-scale study depicts rambunctious Penrod Schofield (signature character of novelist Booth Tarkington) in a confrontation with his suspicious mother. Jashber is Penrod's imaginary detective-self. The third of the Penrod yarns, the tale reappeared in 1929 as a self-contained novel. The pedigree is affirmed in a Cosmopolitan stamp on reverse.
